Pangolin Spirit

Pangolin Spirit started as a “simple” watercolour sketch, one that I wanted to use to paint spirals and swirls (and scales), so the pangolin, which rolls up when threatened, was perfect.

There are two main species of pangolin, with some physical differences between them; the painting tried to include features of both. The fae-ish character also holds a snakefruit. (I think one of my spirit guides sneaked into this picture actually, because the likeness and hair take after him.)

Some information on Pangolins was included in this time-lapse video of the painting’s creation.
