I was always a little obsessed with Circe and the power she had. Somehow it was astrological texts that told her story in more detail: She not only could turn men into animals, it was magic she also used to change her own form.
This was one of the first paintings I did trying to “share space” on a piece of paper that I had previously marbled with inks. It was a bit of an experiment to know what could go on top of marbled areas.
I’ve tried to paint/draw Circe more than once. Below is an older sketch.
